The assignment was to prepare a recreation plan for the Fochteloërveen with a clear vision that is supported by all parties involved and translated into a concrete implementation program. The main objectives of the recreation plan are, to, in balance with the vulnerable peat bog, its nature (flora and fauna) and landscape: redesign and further develop recreation in Fochteloërveen; jointly make and report clear choices with regard to the (re)organisation of recreational functions and facilities; elaborate concrete implementation projects, including project manager, budget and financing. The recreation plan is ready, approved by all parties involved (nature organizations, municipalities and provinces) and work is currently being carried out on implementation.
