This Interreg North-West Europe project is in the development phase. The Concept Note was submitted in June 2019 and at the end of September 2019 we will be informed whether this project is approved and allowed to submit a full application. In this project, 4 universities and 4 sports organisations are cooperating to improve the motor skills of 4-10 year old children in Europe, after these have decreased substantially in recent decades. The development of motor competence in this phase is crucial for lifelong physical and mental well-being. The challenge of this project is to support sports companies (eg fitness) in 5 NWE regions (FR, BE, DE, NL, UK) with the introduction of market-ready new services that enhance to children’s competencies. The universities will develop standardized and validated programs and business models for (new) sports companies to improve physical activity, including health. The project will have a size of approximately € 7 million and will require a subsidy of approximately € 4 million. We helped in this phase with the development of the project and the writing of the concept note.
